The Band Weekly is a non-profit organisation that needs your urgent support. We run many essential community activities including a TBW wrestling federation, TBW super happy multi sport tipping, organise the devotions roster, keep Uncle Hunty locked up and many more worth while activities.
The Band Weekly was first created in the mind of current Co-CEO and Co-Founder Huntley James Evans. Young Huntley drew his passion for, what was then, the newsletter from the then current band master at the time Scott Victor Lingard. Huntley being the youngen mentioned in the middle of yp band practise that we should have a newsletter. Scott replied to shut him down "yeah if you want one so much why do you make one!"
Huntley strewed over this comment for weeks until one Friday night when Huntley, and Co-Founder & Current Co-CEO Daniel Evans, were bored and had nothing to do as they had little to no life, huntley mentioned the comments that Scott had made to him. Daniel being completely suprised by these comments as Daniel had a tendency to never hear the words that huntley spoke, some say by choice, they decided that they would make a monthly newsletter called The Band Weekly. (Like that of the Women’s Weekly, issued monthly)
In March of 2001 The Band Weekly was born. With the raging success of their newly formed newsletter the boys found themselves at home the very next Friday night doing nothing as they still had no life even though their newsletter had shot them to salvation army banding newsletter fame. The fame was short lived. The second edition came out that very next week.
Riding the wave of salvation army banding newsletter fame is exciting but all to often is short lived. The boys some time after faced a split for creative differences and huntley was claiming that it was all his idea which it clearly wasn't. Huntley claimed that he was the reason that The Band Weekly was so good, however the creating of many of the first band weekly's consisted of Daniel behind the key bored and huntley getting him drinks, and that Daniel had taken too much control of the newsletter. And so Daniel set out on his solo career with his newsletter 'The Week Bandly'. Daniel Also claimed that he would take Huntley's entire audience with him.
The idea was short lived, The Week Bandly then merged back with The Band Weekly for the Band Weekly Vol.3 Special Red Sheild edition under the understanding that Huntley would start and write some articles and Daniel would go back to not listening to whatever Huntley says.
This proved to be a very....good experience for the two with 14? more great editions following. The two also formed the first Band weekly geocities webpage on Mr Mark Roberts free webspace. The boys then created there Mullet Tribute page before making there home here at 50 megs.com.
The Band Weekly has now been here for 181 weeks straight and hopefully for a few more.
We have been updating the site daily if you haven't noticed so stay tunned.
The Band Weekly does not hate timbrels. We neither confirm or deny that we think they are pointless.
